Default Fairing Mirrors

How do you guys / gals like the fairing mirrors???

Im considering putting them on my EGS. When I sit on a Street Glide, they almost look as if the 'field of view' is wider.

How about vibration (shaking)?

I GREATLY appreciate all thoughts n comments.

I would rate them (fairing mirrors) as great in appearance and adequate in function. My '95 EGC with stock mirrors and extensions has a much greater field of view but I won't replace the fairing mirrors on my Streeter. I'm just a little more careful on the SG.

I am extremely happy with them on my Ultra. I have them set to be able to see directly behind me at about 25 ft, and being wide view mirrors, can see into lanes beside me. The only blind spot is if someone is hugging the outer line and needs to be nearly half way up beside me. I either lean forward a couple inches or peek to the left or right. The only problem with vibration so far is sitting still, can still see well enough but when a faring brace breaks, you will know it. Depending on how broad your shoulders are and at what distance you want to see behind you will dictate how far out from the stencil you should actually mount them.

I personally think they are BETTER than handlebar mount. I had an 07 EGC - With the handlebar mounted mirrors I was looking at my shoulders to some extent -installed the fairing mount and could see behind me much better.

No vibration issues either. Make sure you use the templates when you are installing them when you drill so they get into the right spot.

Think they are great, no issues with field of view.

Put them on my'02 Ultra. I like them a lot. Put 2" pull back handlebars and the stock mirrors set so far out that I had to twist my head around to much to see. If I had it to do over, I would mount them an inch or so higher then the template just to improve the field of view. Otherwise, great.

Does anyone have a copy of the template that they wouldn't mind scanning and emailing?

I have a very hard time seeing around my arms but they just look too darn good (the mirrors, not my arms) to remove.

I am very neutral on the fairing mirrors. They are functional but I am not impressed with the adjustability or field of view. I've tossed around the idea of getting handlebar mounted mirrors instead, but there are numerous other projects I'd rather do first.

On my 08SG, didn't vibrate nearly too much at all. But, I did just take them off and very happy with it. Handle bar mounted OEM ones for now off of EBay. I didn't notice much of a negative difference with the change.
