I'm installing the painted inner on my Ultra, and things are going extremely well. Or, rather, WERE going extremely well.
Everything is on, and I'm installing my ignition switch, as per the HD shop manual. Bike is a 2007 Ultra Classic. I've tried every possible installation combination, and I can't get the switch to drop down the final 1/4" to hear the "audible click" the manual tells me when it's correctly in the slot.
I can push the little button underneath the switch in no problem. I drop the ignition in, and it drops into the first position; I can't get it in any further.
Any ideas, assistance, advice, mockery? Should I buy the ignition alignment tool, or is there an install trick one of you guru's knows about that can forgo this purchase?
Yup the front has to be turned to lock position so the switch will lock in when you release the little button.. Keep fooling with it mine took about 20 minutes the other day and i didnt move anything i just had to get everything right.... a light and a screwdriver to line it all up helps but i did it without..
BOOYAH! You guys rock. Once I saw how things were supposed to align, it dropped in instantly. Actually, now that I see how you guys did it, it's pretty friggin easy.
Done and done. That was my biggest stumbling block. And back to my install we go. Thank-you again, bros.
