I have RJ Originals on my 07, they are easy to install and defintely work. They match the texture of the fatory seats. They are not made out od cheap plastic like material.
Im using the HD Shields, them seem to work well. All in all its been a quest to conquer the heat generated by my 08 RG. I installed new cams (woods), power commander, true duals, heat shields, header wrap on the exhaust, oil cooler, and vents in my fairing lowers to finally achieve a bike that was comparable to my 01 RK.
hi .i have a 08 classic like yours, thinking about the rush mufflers.how do you like them?i also am doing the same other mods you did ...are you happy with the performance....i also added an oil cooler
thanks in advance mgrimmace
Stay away from the Kuryakan shieldsr the 08 touring bikes...I have gone thru 3 sets in under a year..Sure, they stand behind them, and have replaced them for me, but the damn things break far too easily. The 08 model doesn't use tape. They are mounted on a steel crossmember and 2 steel "Legs" the plastic breaks at the bolts that hold it all together..
Crappy design..The 06 design was MUCH better and I never broke one
I am looking at the HD shields. I like the RJ's, for how they work, but itsnot the look I want on my scoot. Wife has them and loves them on her Softail.
Hi BILL, After reading this post I guess that's why I didn't buy the Kury ones when we were in Daytona. I kinda had a feeling.
Just so you know I have an 07 with TD's and I think it is too hot.My wife actually burnt her right calf.I have had to stop while getting around in city traffic to avoid the "nut roast".I have a stage1 from dealer w/Rineharts. and have added Freedom Wings and the Kury Heat Shields. They help but in a band aid sense. Some of the same yr. models vary greatly in the heat they give off.
Me being a 1st time HD owner and having had many touring bikes of other makes,I was displeased when the dealers only comment was "there all like that" or the popular "That's normal".
