I've searched high and low for an answer to my problem. I just got back from a 700 mile weekend ride (I love Texas ) and after getting all my gear out of my right bag, I tried to close and latch the lid. The damned latch won't "latch"
I tried turning the handlebars and moving the bike, thinking maybe the bag was tweaked or something where it was sitting, but that did not work.
I can push it closed, and lock it...but...I'm the type that I want things to work right.
It might of come loose, check the nut and then loop at the post part that sticks up. you might have to adjust this part one way or the other so its centered.
It was more of a too tight feeling when trying to latch it; like something was in the way. I made myself calm down and actually diagnose the issue. For whatever reason, the fabric that stops the lid from falling completely off when opened was not folding correctly, and was getting caught between the lid and bag.
ding ding your right it is the spring same thing on my 08 s.g the spring was rusted and my warrenty took care of it and know it closes just fine. dude check the spring
