I've got 21K on my front & about 10K on the back. I changed the rear @ 11K the first time & was told I left about 3K of ridding on it. I really don't like to run my tires to their limits.
I think this kind of wear is really good. Used to only get 5K on my sport bikes.
I see a lot of people ripping the D402's in other threads. I'm actually very impressed with them.

I typically got 9,000 miles from a rear Dunlop, 18,000 out of a front. Switched to Avon Venom X and I'm getting 8,000 or so out of the rear and still 18,000 on a front. I love the performance of the Avon, so the loss of mileage is worth it to me. Lower mileage all around compared to many here, but I tend to be pretty aggressive on the throttle.

Assuming the same riding and maintenance habits, should I expect the tires to continue to wear at about the same rate?
Keep in mind the rear tread-depth starts out at 11/32" and the front at only 5/32". I've averaged 10k from recent D402 rears and just changed the front today at 26k, still with about 2/32" remaining. Last spring I mounted a Dunlop Elite 3 rear which is wearing much better than the two D402's I had previously. The new front tire is also an E3. Based on wear so far at 10k I expect to get around 20k out of this rear tire, if tread wear continues at this rate, which makes me very happy. They are cheaper than D402's, handle very well in wet or dry, but are not available in WW.

How other people get more than 10k out of a rear D402 is beyond me, although I suspect our relatively warm weather in S. LA has something to do with it. As tire material warms it wears faster. I don't do hole-shots or burn-outs and don't ride aggressively except in corners, which should wear mostly away from center.

I have over 10K on my bike and rear tire still looks good. You should be on your 3rd rear tire before you have to replace the front.
