Default Tire Wear???

I have an '08 UC with nearly 10,000 miles on the stock Dunlop tires. The rear has about 3/16" of tread depth and the front a little more then that.

Assuming the same riding and maintenance habits, should I expect the tires to continue to wear at about the same rate?

TIA!

Unless your riding habits change, the tires should continue to wear the same. I replaced the tires on my Ultra at 11K miles. The rear had slightly more wear than the front, like yours.

Maintaining proper inflation pressure is key to good wear and longevity. My original D402 rear lasted 13,000 miles. The front is just past 20,000. I'll be replacing that by mid year. And this is with most riding done two-up. The H-D tire pressure/tread depth guage is a good investment. Good for staying on top of tire condition.

I get 7000 miles out of a rear Max... Do the twisties in the NC mountains at least once a set...Tried, Avon Venom X, D402, Michelin Commander.... Michelin had best wear by far for me.

I get 18-22K on my 07 RG. I'm 195 lbs, ride solo, tend to cruise between 50-55 on state highways. On longer trips I pull a trailer which keeps the weight off the bike. I ride around 20K per year. And I keep the air pressure at max rated and check often.

Wow! I need to get a trailer i guess...07 Electra glide Classic...I promised myself to ease up on the Throttle on this next tire...Going to the mountains in 2 weeks so i think the promise will be broken...27000 miles and gone through 4 rears...Max pressure...Back roads driving for most part...Ride with SCRC medium to large groups...Like your Road Glide...What brand trailer is that?

I don't get it I guess. 1st back tire, no burnouts, hardly any back brake, ~ 6,000. Second back tire, still no burnouts, hardly any back brake, etc, about 7,500 and needs replacing NOW! Front still good with ~ 13,500 on it. Maybe the road surface has a bigger effect? I ride mostly back roads (farm to market) down here during the week and interstate on weekends. I don't get it!

I've found braking habits (for me) have a fair amount to do with it. 1st rear tire, 10k. Second 15k, and it only looks about half worn. Still on original front, but it's about done (~25k). Though I rode sport bikes for years, still tended to use back more when I first got my SG. Shifted to using more front and just slowing down sooner has extended the life of the rear more, I believe.
