I recently ordered a set of 9 spoke chrome wheels from Zanottii's. Their service was great as I received the wheels in less than a week from day I ordered them. Here is my question. I first called them to ask about the wheels and if they were in stock. I gave her the part # from the Harley catalog. While talking with the gal on the phone who answered my question, I asked if I could just go ahead and order them on the phone. She told me if I did that I wouldn't get the internet online ordering discount and that she would have to charge me the full price that Harley lists them for in their catalog. I was wondering if anyone knew why they can only offer their lower prices by online order only?
Oh BTW. I thought it interesting that stamped on the wheels was....'Made in China.'
They must have had a policy change, as I have done exactly what you described with no troubles. Or, you were talking to the retail shop and not the internet section.

m.a.c.
You've answered my question then. I bet I was talking to their retail shop. At least she was nice enough to tell me I should order it online to get a better price. Zanottii's seems to be a pretty first class business. I know they've got mine from now on.
Good folks to deal with.I always seem to have parts on my order that need to be ordered or backordered but I always order before I really need something. If you buy wheels, bearing kit and tires have them install them-great price.
they are great to deal with. and YES I have heard that from others I believe, that if you call they cannot give you the internet price.. not sure why, but that is why you call and ensure they have the part, and then place your order on the puter... they have great customer service! I would use them over and over.. not to mention I live in Illinois so Chicago and Lake Shores 20% off is not really that much of a savings when you have to pay all of the darn sales tax!!!
I too have had good luck with them and good service. I always order online. They did tell me the better price was via online order so I order that way,
I like Zanotti's for mail order discounts at 20%. Even saving 20%, do you feel like you got a good deal on the chrome wheels? I went with sending my wheels in and had them chromed but they also do a Chrome 9 Spoke exchange. Sending my wheels to ChromeProsPlating was $550 for both wheels. If you don't have the stock 9's of course it's more for the core. They did a great chrome job which has held up fantastic. You can pick up some pretty cheap 9's off Ebay or the Internet if you need a core. I realize you've already got yours done, I just thought this might help someone else out there thinking about doing the same thing. Congrats on the new wheels.

I'm sure they do a fine job. I looked into ebay. Even bid on some. The price I gave for them at Zanottii's compared to what the chrome plated ones that have been sent in and redone wasn't much different since I didn't have any to exchange. Gave $425 per wheel from Zanottii's. Zanottii charged me $36.00 shipping. 'Buy now' price on the ones on ebay without exchange was still, with shipping, going to cost me about this much. I decided I would rather have new ones anyway than trusting an exhanged wheel that wasn't mine to begin with.

That's a really good point and it's what I was toying with, but decided to go the ebay route. I called Chrome Pros and they quoted me $550 plus $40 to return ship them. By the time I got them shipped down and back it would be close to $650. Found a local shop in town that is doing exchanges for $600. Might as well keep the money local and save myself the hassle/expense of shipping my set off. All that to say I will have about $800 in the wheels by the time I do the exchange. You aren't much worse off $ wise and you have brand new ones (although mine are supposedly off of a '07 road king with about 7k miles and the wheels really do look good...)
