new progressive drop in lowering kit

I have a set, waiting to go in my 09 FLHX. They are drop in, but you have to remove the bubes to access the cap to drop them in. Ride wise, they should be pretty good...the travel is decreased, bu the progressive spring has a beteer rate than stock.

I installed a progressive front drop a couple years ago. The difference between the old style and the drop-in style that I see in the advertisements is that instead of needing to measure and cut the top spacer they provide a second stiffer looking spring to take the place of the spacer. So all you need to do when you get the to part where you physically install the springs is drop them in and button the tubes back up.

Not correct. You still have a spacer that needs to be cut to the proper length. However the drop ins have a very soft spring that acts as a second spacer...it goes in easily and as the weight is placed back on the wheel, it compresses and becomes essentially a solid spacer, without the need to try to pre-load the main spring.
