I went with the Moco this time, their paint is a lot more durable then the stuff I used last time. I'll have a 09 Streetglide inner & switch cap available in a couple weeks.
Oh, and I still have a 07 unpainted inner and cap available now, make me an offer.
well if you would have asked earlier? .. I guess i could have done it cause the wx sucks and i have no job so i have time ...
I can kinda do one without pics well i guess i did take some pics of mine but i never refered to them
Even without pics would be great. I have had the cap off before, put in a oil temp gauge, hogtunes,,,What has to come off and in what order would really help.
Just something to consider, I would think you might get a nasty bright glare off a shiny white inner fairing when the sun hits it. Just something to think about...
I checked with a few dealers and found a guy who does the body work for one of the dealers. Does Great work, charged $125 for the paint job, 3 coats of clear on it for extra protection. He also rides a 07 SG. I bought a take off from a local guy and had it painted then swapped them out. Getting ready to sell my take off. Came out great and only took about 3 hours to do the actual swap out taking my time and working on a few other things. The Service manual made it real easy.
I just painted a glacier white inner and the match was not that bad. I used PPG and had to play with the color some but not much. On paint work sometime the cheapest is not always the best, alot of guy go really cheap and then have to get it redone because they are not happy with the results. Sometimes the extra $100 bucks is worth not going thru the grief of a bad paint job. Inners are not the easiest things to paint. Good luck with it.
Definitely Go Local! I'm sure there is a shop around there that has experience with that type of job. Do your research! I know I'll be doing My own on top of the Airbrushing. Good Luck and Let us know how ya did!
