Cruise between 2500 and 3000. Try to keep it at 2700-2800 if I can.

Hell, I don't have a tach. I just ride where it feels good for the type of riding I'm doing. If I want to save fuel, I'm low. If I'm in curves and want my power band ready, I downshift a gear.

Interesting question and even more interesting responses....

There really seems to be somewhat of a consensus among those who have responded so far. By & large, I'd say I fit the model that has been repeated by most.

The thing that is interesting about this is that it really drives home something I've always said with regard to performance upgrades... Torque on the bottom is of far greater value than big HP numbers on top. Keep that in mind as you look for your engine mods.

While commuting to work and back it's normally 3000-3200rpm/70-75 mph.
Of course this will vary depending on a 5 or six speed.

When I had the DTT system, it would show a graph of the RPM ranges and show you what % of time you spent in each zone. By far the 2000-3000 range was the most used at like 90%. Above that is really only used when passing or out with the boys doing red light drags.

Low-end torque rules!!

I ride primarily by feel and I seem to be happiest between 2500 to 3000 in cruise mode. Will get above 4K when getting up to speed before shifting.
