I have Hogtunes tweeter pod, upgraded fairing speakers and lower fairing speakers
powered by a Hogtunes amp. and the stock radio powers the rear speakers.
Great service from Pez and it was all Plug & Play.

After a LOT of research, I think I'm gonna go with the Alpine PDX-4.100 or 4.150, ( gonna mount it in the lid of the tour pak), and a set of either Infinity Kappa or Boston Accoustic pro's.

Already received the rings to run the 6 1/2's in the batwing , and 5 1/4's in the rear.

I just wanted to run power to all 4 speakers.

Gonna run the stock HK unit for now. If I need more, I'm gonna swap out to the Kenwood KVT-514.

Will I be happy with all this on the stock head unit ??? Who knows. If not, they have a good resale.

I put the J&M speakers with amp in the fairing with the factory headunit. I am very disapointed with the overall quality and volume of the system. I am going to sell the entire system and put in a Alpine headunit with JL audio 6.5" components and amplifier. Also going to add a rearview camera linked into the video screen of the head unit, just because...

recently added hogtunes front & rear speakers and amp to my o4 RG. Fronts are great even at highway speed, but the rear volume is pretty weak.

Just added the Biketronics SONY kit, along with Pez's Hogtunes speakers and tweeters. Although on a short time....for my ears.....it sounds GREAT @ 70mph...just as it is. Plans are to add the fairing lowers and Pez's Lowers Speaker Kit w/amp.

Thinking it'll only get better.

The J&M speaker upgrades are the best performing and most efficient speakers available, (with or without an amp) when using the stock Harley HK radio or the aftermarket radios ,,,,, even better than the new 6.5's people are talking about ,,,,

However ,,, I have tested 3 different brands of add-on amplifiers over the past couple of weeks, and without exception, these amps add much more harmonic distortion to what is heard, then they do extra volume ,,,,,,

Frankly I was surprised at this ,,,,, considering what they get for them $$$ ,,,,

do any of you know of an amplifier on the market for the Harleys that does not add so much distortion ? or do any of the amplifiers that you all use, tap into the pre-amp section of the HK radio somehow ? ,,,,,

JMJOHN,
I think you need to step up your game...this is about the fifth time I've seen someone with your set-up publically admitting they didn't like it and you come back with the same tired retort...i'm just sayin...

Glad you got the speaker adapter rings so fast! I sold my stock radio on ebay for $494 dollars and went and bought a Kenwood with aux. and USB on the front (loaded 8gb jump-drive with music) and got the XM satellite with it for $280! The extra $214 would almost pay for the amp.
