I saw in the J&P catalog that they sell straight lengths of SS heat shield. It is on my winter projects list. Love the way mine runs. I did have it dyno tuned with a set of CVO touring mufflers, the SE A/C, and the Pro Race Tuner and it is just about perfect now.
The new garage goes up on Thursday so I can start thinking about working in the winter, life is good!
DoomBuggy where did you see them I am looking for a 22-24" straight heatsheild but a search came up with nuthin' larger than 18". I too searched the catalog both in my new book and online. The closest I can find is a set of replacement Samson shields that are one peice from the head to the muffler but at $300 for the set that is more than what I paid for the duals!!

I went with the 18" from J&P and had to flip it, cut it a little, but when I got it dome it covered the whole thing. I still have a line where the two shields come together.
Overall very impressed with this product and I have had it on for almost a year.
Confused can you post a few pics to help in my desision.
teqsand... I am only running a set of Night rider's Xied's with the true duals and 2" baffles and the bike runs great, minuscule drop in MPG's and runs cooler.

I ran both sets of XIED's 14.1 and 13.7's as a test for my dealer... I lost like 8-10 mpg so I got rid of them... I'm still running pretty lean tho....
I do have stage1 intake, without the download, dealer said not to waste my money, it only raises the rev limit nothing else....
I too lose about 8-10 MPG after the Xied's but I do notice the cut in heat, and it seems to get a bit more power thru the 2-5th gears. I just wonder how the fullsacs will affect the setup on my bike? Anoyone know?
Ok so I went and pulled the catalog and sure enough only out to 18". I know I saw them longer somewhere. Guess I will have to hunt them down as soon as I get a minute. I did check Dennis Kirk and could only find the 18" ones there also.
