Update your firmware to the latest available then try again. Heard from a third party that the new PCIII software causes issues when the PCIII had the older version of firmware installed.
Then again, had a bud go through three PCIII's before getting one that worked right. That's very rare. He called Jamie and he said you have to go to Power Commander to get it swapped out.
Not to be an idiot but you do have the bike running when checking the throttle right? Try clearing the the PC first and downloading a new map from PC? Different USB cable? Just throwing suggestions out
You don't need to have the engine running to set TP on either a PCIII or PCV. With PCIII just plug in the 9V adapter and turn the ignition on. The PCIII powers up either by a running engine or with the 9V adapter, and ignition-on only won't do it. The PCV is much simpler, requiring only a USB connection to power up, and to set TP just plug in the USB and turn on the ignition. No need to start the bike either way unless you're checking specific things like RPM, TP, AFR, etc.
