Maybe at the sparky-end of the plug, but not the metal of the head itself.

I aim for 300 on cylinder head right at base of plug.

Guess that the 210 - 220 must be overall head temp. Wonder what your 300 at the plug translates to elsewhere?

I went with the HD Premium Oil Cooler and it works as advertized. I'm sure the Jagg works just fine also. I would say do the math on all the required parts and see what comes out at a better price.

IMHO the HD looks better, and I run with the chrome cover installed. Either way your engine will be much happier because of adding an oil cooler.

You might need to "take the long way home" this summer. Traffic down your way sucks! Oil coolers do little-to-nothing unless you're moving.

'Course, since you gradjitated to a semi-garbage barge, you can look and see if'n there's an electrical outlet under the kitchen sink in the left saddle bag, then stop at WallyWorld and get a genuine chromed Chinese pedestal fan for when you're sitting in the jam.
HA!
The outlet on my "Garbage Barge" is in the tour pack.

That's a bit on the hot side for the front cylinder, as late-model bikes go into heat-management mode by that time, and ignition advance starts retarding above 260°.

Almost like a chicken and egg question. Oil coolers work great when your moving but if your moving do you need an oil cooler? They will make the oil cooler as your moving though.

The oil cooler definately makes a huge difference in your oil temps. It keeps the temps cooler and much more stable when you are riding and it helps a good deal while you are stopped.

When you stop...your oil temps are lower than they would have been to begin with. Having a bit more oil in the system helps a bit. And the oil cooler still seems to help cool the oil through convection while you are stopped. You may see a rise in temps while stopped, but not to the degree that you would have seen if you did not have a cooler at all.

For me, in 80+ degree temps last week, my oil temp only climbed 5 degrees while I was stopped. Averaging 215-220 while riding and hit 225 once while stopped at a long red light with heavy traffic before the light. And I was running cruise range AFR's of 14.6 all day long for 350+ miles.

Yes, it helps while stopped too.
