Has anyone had problems with CB bleedover on their HK radios? I first noticed it driving home my brand new 09 UC last month up the interstate.
It seemed that as I came up on Semi-trucks their CB traffic would bleed over my FM.
I got a 3 hour ride in last week, mainly out in the country, and did not have any problems so I figured the original bleedover was just an anomaly.
I took the bike out yesterday and noticed that as I drove down certain roads with a lot of overhead wires I was getting interference in the form of a quick blip each time I would pass directly underneath an overhead wire. If I drove past a power station I got interference as well. I took note of certain trouble spots and found when I passed by the same spots hours later I got the same result.
So I stop at a friend's house to show him the new scoot and I turn on the radio only to hear two truckers having a BS session. This happened across all bands AM/FM/WB and XM! I leave his house drive 10 miles home no problems whatsoever.
I know the bike is under warranty but I thought if someone had run into this problem before I would try and fix it myself.
Turn off the CB if you are not using it. Normal CB bleedover could trip the squelch which will interrupt your FM/AM/CD/AUX listening. Normally, if you are running CB and a squelch event happens it will lower the volume on your current audio and allow you to hear the CB. It will then delay about .5 seconds before returning you to your selected audio input.

Most or at least many use amps (linear) for their cb radio. Not only will it boost the out put dramatically but causes bleed over. Even law enforcement radio's will do it. There are at least 2 types of bleed over 1) is bleeding from 1 channel (like slime_dog said) to another causing the cb it self to key; 2) bleeding onto the radio itself with the cb turned off. This can be caused by a couple of things, too much power (linear) and the linear is not matched properly.
As far as the power lines I get it sometimes. I plan to add a filter when I pull my fairing to install new speakers. It can also be cause by a faulty ground. That i will check at the same time.
