Default 09 Wheels question

Are the 09 Ultra Classic wheels clearcoated? My last bike had it and they were just wash and dry em and they looked like new for years.

They are not coated and after awhile, will stain just like years before.

2 dealers told me they were clearcoated, but now people say they are not. I guess I'll have to look a little closer and see what some polish will act like on them.

Rub your finger on the bare aluminum...it'll turn black!

Read your manual. The 08 models had no clearcoat. My manual says to polish them and clean weekly.

After spending a week in FL at Bike Week on my 09 Ultra, I can assure you they are not clear coated. Just like in years past, I had to spend some time to get the FL grime off the bare aluminum. The new 09 wheels look great but they are even a bigger bitch to clean than before.

Not coated. There are some good wheel sealers on the market that are really effective. Look at Chemicalguys.com. I forget the name but it comes in a small white tub.
