How in the heck, and what do you use to clean the spots and crap off the 09 wheels? They look terrible in less than a year. I've been using s100 wheel cleaner but that just takes the brake dust off and leaves more spots.
I know you're not going to like this, but the best thing you can do is take em off, wrap em up, and send em out to get chromed. There's a bunch of places that do good work. They are so much easier to keep looking nice, simple to wash off, and absolutely no maintenance. I sent mine out to ChromeProsPlating.com, no affiliation whatsoever, and they did a great job. $550 for both wheels. I've seen their new 09/10 touring models chromed and they really look great. Food for thought with winter on the way, it's a great winter project. Good Luck

I can tell you one thing you can use and one thing that you should not use. I tried some Black Magic wheel cleaner that I had used many times on alloy wheels and to my shock, the cleaner left black streaks on my wheels before I could rinse it off.
I posted a question here asking for help. I got several suggestions. One was Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. I tried that and it took most of the streaks off and made the wheels look pretty good. It took some rubbing though. Someone else suggested using corn starch. I haven't tried that yet, but I plan to sometime.
is there a coating on the wheels or could you polish them.was just wondering because it might be alittle easyer to keep clean.i hate cleaning these wheels also.

I wish I had posted a day earlier. Been there, done that. Mine still have streaks that are barely visible. I was sick when I did that too and I had used Black Magic on lots and lots of other alloy wheels. Get some Mother's and go to work. I really was told that corn starch would work wonders as well.

I'm right there with you! Noticed the other day how bad they were looking. The Chrome thing seems to be the cheaper fix, unless you're SMOKEin and going to shell out a $2-3 k on new wheels and tires....

Ah! I see you've been married a while! I fell off the ladder cleaning out the gutters tonight. I should be able to work something for my bike out of that . . . .
