I use this:

Fine-Cut Cleaner is a mildly abrasive cleaner that removes fine surface defects including light oxidation, stains, scratches, swirls and fresh water spots. Diminishing Abrasives™ cut quickly, then reduce to a polishing rouge, while Buffered Abrasive™ action lubricates the finish to prevent scratching.

If not bad then I just use a good wax.

I used a clay bar on mine with good results a lot better than HD wheel cleaner.

I just use plain soap and water with this brush.

Then I rinse the wheels off with distilled water using a garden pump sprayer to prevent spots. Takes five minutes a wheel and no buffing. I do wax my wheels once every six months.

Oh, the brush works great cleaning around the engine too. It can be bent to work in odd shape places.
