Anybody else had a problem with the radio cutting out? Driving along with radio on all of a sudden - no sound from speakers. Turn radio off and back on - back to normal. This is on an '08 Street Glide. I guess a trip to the dealer is in the cards.
That is how it started for me. It would be good for a long time. Then it dropped a rear. Then it dropped a front . Then it was down to one rear only once in a while. In the mean time my warranty was up. That is another story.
I would have them do a diagnostic on it. Then it is documented.
I just dropped off my 09 ultra that is doing just the same thing! except I was able to play with the volume button and it would come back and the volume bars would go up and down but no sound! then all of a sudden the sound would come back but not all the time. Told the dealer I have only had it 2 months and 350 miles and dont call unless you fix it! 09 should not do this! However I am confident they will fix it!
Just took my SG to the dealer for the 1000 mile maintenance. The radio was off when it was done, no biggie, I wanted to hear how everything else sounded. Man lots of the little rattling is gone, shifts smoother, but I digress...
So I get about halfway home and hit the "on" button on the radio. Nothing. Push and hold it, nothing. Sigh. Try it about 30 times between there and home and back to the dealer.
What started at 9am ended at 4pm with them having to hold onto the radio. Something about a bunch of authorizations and tests done and they can't replace it without sending it in. Had a good Eagles CD in it too, they couldn't get it to power up so I can't get my CD out. Hopefully that will all get worked out. A week or so to either get a new one or get that one repaired. Didn't have tunes on my lowrider, I guess I can go a week without on the SG.
The dealer guys were cool to talk to, the coffee was free, got to watch a big screen HD TV all day with no work. It coulda been worse.
