I know I have read it hear before, but I cant find it now.
When I turn the bike off I hear a whistle sound from my A/C area, my guess is the fuel injectors. Can someone please explain why this is and let me know if I need to address it?
I have had the same noise from my Night Train and my Road King Classic, both Fuel Injected, both had stage 1 air cleaners on them. It's nothing to worry about, kind of like a small owl is how I would discribe it. lol. I figured it was just air either escaping a cylinder or being drawn in through the closed throttle plate once the ignition/fuel were killed.
On the 07's and up this is normal in most cases. Your motor is equipped with an Idle Air control valve which maintains target idle speed by bypassing air around the plenum. The feed hole for this system is located on the air filter side and will ocassionaly whistle on shut down as air is drawn through.
False air leaking at the induction side of your motor can also produce a similar sound. This would be indicated by excessive lean pop, unstable idle speed, hard start, etc.
For what its worth, I have the same noise sometimes and my bike runs fine.
DAMN
i thought hd put a/c on the touring models and i didnt get the memo.
that could help with the heat. maybe the 2011 model will have that
since they'll be water cooled.
