Question about Dyno Tuning
Your question is not stupid, as the old saying goes, "The only stupid qustion is the one not asked". Weather will always have an effect on how your bike will perform unless you have a device that stays on your bike while you ride that can constantly adjust your mixture for the changing weather conditions.
In response to your question there are actually 3 ways the "tuning can happen".
Option #1 - Have your bike dyno tuned at a shop that can actually control the environment within the test cell. A shop like this is very rare because of the infrastructure cost to have this ability.
Option #2 - Have your tuning done at a shop with an integrated "Weather Station" equipped dynamometer. The "better" shops should have one, but make sure you ask before making your appointment. The "Weather Station" records the current atmospheric conditions in the test cell (temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure) and then the dynamometer system/tuner corrects for those conditions and adjustes the fuel map on your bike to run at optimum levels for your geographical area.
Option #3 (voodoo method) - Have your bike tuned at a shop that does not have the ability to control its environment, or have an integrated weather station. Going this route will involve an amount of guess work on the part of the tuner, however if the tuner has many years of experience with your type of bike he will most likely be able to get it done for you but it will not be as accurate as with a weather station.
In summary, when we are in talks with a prospective customer we always highly recommend adding the Weather Station that comes integrated with our software as part of the dynamometer package. It can be an expensive accessory but can add a huge amount of accuracy and subsequently customer satisfaction which is priceless.
