Making a turn or in a curve........no front brake!
Yeah....I knew this before and have confirmed it the hard way on my own. Just panicked I guess and did the wrong thing. Been in similar situations before and handled things properly...guess I was caught off gaurd on this one.

My comment about ABS...though it wouldn't help out this time, true....was just cause you never know how you'll react to an emergency, even if you've been through them fine before. It can't hurt....and I should have gotten it.

But...hey, the bike is fine and you really wouldn't notice the damage unless you knew it was there. Nothing at all happened to me. I had all my gear on and my full leather gloves definately saved the skin on the palms of both my hands. I was lucky on this one.

Just wanted everyone to think about this and make sure they use extra caution as the riding season begins, as cagers aren't used to seeing us out. Also, wear all your gear...even if you are only going around the block...it can happen anywhere.

Ride safe,
Tony

Thumbs up

Too bad about your ride, but so true about having that front wheel turned and applying the brakes. Thanks for your service to our country. If you were in my town we'd figure out a way to get that bike ready for your return...call your dealer and see if they'd work something out for you.

I figured you knew, Tony, but just wanted to be sure and, as far as ABS is concerned, to me it's a "must have" option now that H-D has finally made it available.

Well, stay safe, amigo, and keep your head down.
