Last Ride...Thread #2....I'm DOWN
with your front wheel turned ABS would not have helped one bit. If your front wheel is turned, you CANNOT hit your front brakes, ABS or not. If you do, it will pull you down like a magnet, as you discovered the hard way.
Making a turn or in a curve........no front brake!
My comment about ABS...though it wouldn't help out this time, true....was just cause you never know how you'll react to an emergency, even if you've been through them fine before. It can't hurt....and I should have gotten it.
But...hey, the bike is fine and you really wouldn't notice the damage unless you knew it was there. Nothing at all happened to me. I had all my gear on and my full leather gloves definately saved the skin on the palms of both my hands. I was lucky on this one.
Just wanted everyone to think about this and make sure they use extra caution as the riding season begins, as cagers aren't used to seeing us out. Also, wear all your gear...even if you are only going around the block...it can happen anywhere.
Ride safe,
Tony
