I have a 2000 road glide and have a detachable tour pack on it, the old style tubular one.
I recently purchased the new style one to replace it. I already have the docking hardware for the older style. What do I need to do to mount the new one? Part numbers ect woul be helpful.
Docking hardware kit 53746-97B was superceded to 53804-06. I would imagine you had the 97B kit on yours. I would check for fitment first, but if not then get 53804-06

I am not sure I understand what part is new. Is it the tour pack or the mounting hardware?
I kept my old style tour pak mounting hardware (tublar type) when I bought my 08 EGS. I sold my leather RK tour pak and bought a new color matched one for the 08. I used the older mounting rack by just drilling holes in the base plate of the new tour pak - being sure that they were centered and thru the metal inside base plate. I bolted it to the rack and it fit right on.
