Thanks to all who responded. John I will take it in next week. I did notice that the rear connector worked fine (there was no squeal) and while the antenna is held down by the tour pack latch the squeal stops when I pust the ptt button when the cord is plugged in front. Any suggestions from the group?

it is a good idea NotGrownUp has to turn the intercom volume down to see if this affects the squeal ,,,,,
but I suspect a CB antenna issue here ,,,, it may not be plugged in, the coax cable going to it could be damaged etc ,,,,
get to your dealer and have them get an SWR meter on it ,,, that will tell you alot of things, id addition to tuning it ,,,
