Good, the stock EFI is hard to tune on modified engines. If you do a big bore, you will have issues that may never be just right. i.e. idle speed, will probably be inconsistent.
Wally, I just noticed that you did the 98" Revolution mods. You are the first one I have seen with this brand. Tell me your recommendation, would you use their stuff again? Does it perform to what you thought it would?
Actually , if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have bought a 99'.
I like the 98" kit, but tuning a Magnetti Marelli ecm is difficult and costly.
The bike rocks compared with stock, but after 50,000 kms it seems to be using more oil than it should be. That said, I'm finding it hard to believe it used as much oil as it did during the last go round.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention, or something, but it used well over a quart in 8,000 kms. I run amzoil, and this is not normal.
The oil in it is fresh for the spring start up, so I'll know better by early June. I'm having a hard time believing it, kinda hoping it's my mistake, as I normally only fill to half way up the stick and then just add a bit when it's down. I had a few heels around my shop, so maybe I somehow got confused about how much I had added. We'll see soon.
Changed everything out at 42000 and not a problem since. Attached is a pic.
1999E-Glide, you must have had your bearings changed at sometime, that's a new style roller bearing that you have in your picture.
I just changed my bearings, tensioners, pushrods and lifters at 33k. The old style ball bearing was in great shape, so were the tensioners. I bought this bike used last year and rode it over 3k worrying about that rear cam bearing and tensioiners. I'm glad I just went ahead and did the upgrade, even though nothing was going bad I now have peace of mind.
