Im in the market for a set of apes for my 03 roadglide. Can anyone suggest a brand that come in 14" and is a bit wider than the stock bars? The stock bars feel too narrow, any suggestions?
I've changed the bars on my dyna three times and finally settled on stock wide glide bars. I put the reach bars on my Road King and was more or less happy. The stock bars on the SERG are a perfect fit.
I am running a set of wide glide bars on my 07 RG. I know there is a thread (at least one) with different types of bars and the opinions of the riders. One of the threads has pictures of the bars side by side and arranged to see the difference in pull back and height. Do a search and I am sure you can find them
i just ordered some LA Choppers 14" bars. they are 40" wide as well, which is about 8" over stock. i will post up some pictures when i get them on. you can use any bars made for a roadking, etc. dont use bars made for a batwing bike, as they have an offset bend in the vertical legs, and are too wide at the bottom.
so i ended up with 13" cyclesmiths as they showed up before the LA choppers bars. i think they are perfect. cables are +6. had to extend wiring on right side controls only.
they are about 1.5" narrower than the LA choppers bars, and about 3/4" shorter, but im loving them. word of caution about LA Choppers bars; they have a really cheesy laser etched LA CHOPPERS logo burned into them at the base...not so much my liking.
