I had mine off for a while but the wife wants it on when she rides. Depends on what helmet I want to wear if the weather is bad. I like it both ways & am glad I have the option.

I spent about 550 dollars on the kit and wiring. I worked on it for hours. Had it all set up that I could just unplug and take off the tour pak in a min, than I also set up with am/fm/cb ants. with the pak off. Bought a back rest set up for the wife. bottom line, took it off about four times in 5 years. For me it was a total waste of time and money. I have a Ultra because I wanted an Ultra...Than I "thought" I wanted something sportie....but I mised the storage of the tour pak too much. The wife and I shop too much. Be Safe JIM

I have installed the detachable tourpack on 3 of my touring bikes and run them in the solo mode most of the time. When wifey wants to ride or long trip comes up I pop it on and go.

I have the detachable and only put it on for long trips. It does make a difference on the top load weight being off the bike.

Don't have an Ultra, but I do have the detachable TP. I like the option of being able to take it off, but more and more, it just stays on... FWIW

Have it on mine and have the TP of most of the time. I use it on trips other than that it's off. This is the 2nd Ultra Ive had this way. Wouldn't have it any other way

I ride most of the time with mine off, but snap it on for the kids or the wife. Its' extremely quick and easy. I chose to not run the lights on the tour pack, so I don't have to jack with a harness and being a E-Glide Classic, no rear speakers to worry about.

There are enough folks here that might trade you for your mount at less money than new.

Hey Rodeo - took a friend to the dealer to pick up his Ultra. While I was waiting I wandered around an your bike really caught my attention.

A few questions if you don't mind? How tall are you and is the wimpshield efficient.

How long to take the tour pac on and off?

Any pro's or con's to look for?

I'm just not ready for an Ultra.....(not old enough at 52)
