They told me a Clearview, if you have a passenger to stick with the 12". Didn't want the wife pissed so that's what I did. Works well.

Well, when I installed my 9.5 Clearveiw I was somewhat disapointed. The wind went over my head but a ton more air came in from under the forks than the OEM sheild.Got back on this board and came across a post on the under the fork deflector. Paid $24.00 at my HD store and now my Clearveiw is totaly awsome. We don't realize sometimes when we change the wind current it may create a void and pull in air.

I put an 8" Clearview Recurve (blem) on a couple weeks ago. I like the fact I can see over it...especially on those foggy mornings in SE Texas . Ive had both the 12 HD and the 9.5" HD. My GF did nothing but complain about the buffeting she was getting with the 9.5"....said time we got where we were going, her neck was hurting. For me, it was like the bifocal line with the 9.5"....either stretch to look over, or duck to see thru.

This weekend will be our first trip with the 8"...she likes riding behind the 12"...so if it doesnt work out, Im considering ordering a 12" recurve.

I'm 6 feet, 32 inseam, and use the 9.5 recurve and it is perfect for me on my 08 EGS and block any wind from hitting the top of my helmut. The 12 inch stock shield is too high for me. End up either having to stretch to see over or look through the shield. Not good. Suppose it would make a difference if your height is either in the legs or a longer torso.

How did the 8" CV recurve work out for you on the ride? Sounds like you had the exact same issue with the 9.5" that I did. Stretch to look over or duck to look through.

Thanks.
