Fork Spring Questions?
Any of you suspension guru's...this is for you.....
I ordered a set of "stock length" Progressive fork springs.
By this wording, one would think they're the same length, side by side.
They are not.
Included with the Progressive springs, more Sch 40 PVC to cut.
The instructions say to cut the PVC at 1.75" for my year model.
I install the spring, then the cut PVC...and measure.
I remove that and install the stock spring...and measure.
The stock spring is still 3/4" longer out of the tube than the Progressive and spacer.
Perhaps Progressive means that the actual wire is the same length???
Are Progressive springs coiled that much more than stocks...that they don't need as much pre-load to achieve the same/better ride?
Seems to me if I put the Progressive/spacer in per their instructions...my frontend will be too soft?
Any ideas???

They are made with a heavier wire than the stock showa fork springs. When you put the fork caps back on you will know what I mean. If you cut the PVC pipe longer than progressive recommend you may get the forks topping out (CLUNKING) on drop offs in the road, driveways etc.
That's cute, cupcake.
