Thumbs up changed fairing can not install lock back help

hi change out inner fairing all went well can not get lock back in i have the front forks turn left and locked i can un lock with srcew driver i think its out of time??????????????? help

On my '07 the key needs to be in the ignition and turned something like 60 degrees for it to drop down inside. Not sure if the '09 is the same way but...is the key in the ignition?

yep can be a pain in the a$$.Harley sells a tool for this i didnt have it so i used a screw driver to line everything up.

Sorry Gabe, this is one of those jobs where you'll fight it and fight it and, just when you're ready to throw something, it'll fall into place.

Often depends on how it was removed, in what position and that is what needs to be remembered and then returned the same. So if the ignition was in the off position then that is how it must return...I have a feeling you already know this, but hey it may be still worth saying still.

Make sure you are not pushing it down to far also...should be up about an 1/8"
