Default SuperTrapp Slipon Problem

I bought a pair of the SE SuperTrapp slipons for my 07 Ultra and I'm unable to slip the right one up as far on the header pipe as the left one. It's because the right header pipe is slightly larger in diameter than the left one. I know this is true because both mufflers slip on the left pipe very easily and both mufflers bind about half way on the right pipe. I'm guessing that because of the heat, the right side pipe has expanded. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you take care of it? I've tried WD-40 and even tried polishing the pipe with an electric drill brushpad, neither of which helped.

i have no experience with this problem but i was thinking that you could heat the inside of the mufflerpipe. im not sure if a burnzomatic will be enough heat but it might be. heating it up substantially should increase the diameter slightly and perhaps this would be enough to allow the fit your looking for. ya have to be quick between heating and installing,,very quick to see the most benefit. any blueing or coloring on the finish side should come off with naval jelly or a similar anti blue product.

You might also try hi-temp gasket sealer... It should make things slide a little easier while it's "fresh"
