I installed my inner fairing after paint. Installed Digital Dakota's, HogTunes speakers and fairing pod, Apes and chrome controls and a Chrome engine kit and soon a 2-1 fatcat.
During this project I had the main fuse removed and also the neg side of the battery. I tagged all wiring behind inner fairing and re-connected with the exception of the lower lightbar.
The controls are connected with the exception of the throttle, clutch and brake lines
So I plugged in main fuse and connected battery just to switch on and see gauges and hear speakers. Horn and radio controls work fine, but the left speaker and left side Pod will not work. I tried it on the right and it is fine. I plugged it back in on the left and all terminals, speaker and pod, have power with my test light! How can that be and not work. I checked my radio manual, which is a HD Classic Amplified CD/Radio, and it says that there is no fader control and it doesn't state anything about a balance control which is what it sounds like but it doesn't show that feature.
Will pulling and reconnecting the fuse and battery disarm this function? Does the ECM have anything to do with these electric components???
My 05 UC has a front/back fader - thus hard to not get the entire side. Would try the working side on the non-working side of the radio - will tell you it's the radio. Would also try leaving the battery disconnected for some time - say more than an hour. ECM not the problem.
Ok..here goes. 2005 EGS
the left speaker and left side Pod will not work. I tried it on the right and it is fine. I plugged it back in on the left and all terminals, speaker and pod, have power with my test light! Thx guys
confirm you plug the right wires into the left speaker and pod and they worked? cause if so (and there is no balance control?), then it would probably be the output from the radio...
