this my third attempt at this thread, damn web sponsors keep booting me out. my antennae will not work with my tbag. going on a trip need lots of tunes. need explicit direction how to make discs with alot of music. i ahave friend whomhas a burner but we dont know where to get the tunes or who to record to a mps or some disc that will hold alot of tunes. thanks
Won't tell ya where to get downloads of MP3s, but...you have a CD player, right? Unless it is the KH on the 06s, the CD player will NOT readMP3 format (nice if it would because you can load a couple hundred tunes in MP3 format on a single CD), so instead, I bought a Creative Labs Zen Nano Plus for 100 bucks (a 1 GB flash drive and it has FM too) that plugs right into my AUX IN on the radio and is powered by a single AAA battery (about 18 hours per battery) and will hold about 200 tunes at 192 bps. IRiver, and others also make them in 256 MB thru 1 GB sizes. Make sure you have the correct OS for the MP3 player though...some ONLY work with Windows XP (and I am still using 98SE).
Getting the tunes is an issue you will have to hunt for, but these units also do a CD or track rip...have at it!

The software you end up choosing will have directions on how to use it.
You purchase the music either as regular audio CD's or via an online source such as the iTunes Music Store. Any other form would be a copyright violation.
thanks for the info. do you think it is best to plug the mp3 into the stereo are do it with a disc? is there one mp3 player more adaptable to the stereo on the 06 hk than the other? i thought if possible, it would be nice to also run ear phone for the wife.
I bought a Sony Bean 1gb. MP3 flashdrive and loaded at least a dozen CD's so far. No moving parts so vibration is not an issue. I have an '06 Streetglide and every CD I have put in the unit stops then starts. No problem with the MP3. It has a rechargable battery that is supposed to last 50 hrs. It snaps into a bracket I bought from West Marine and plugs into the HK player on the bike. Also has an FM radio.
If you are using Windows XP on your buddie's computer with the burner, the easiest way to make an mp3 disc would be this:
Using My Computer, or Folders view:
Make a folder of all the songs you want on the disc, that are on the computer.
Load the blank CD into the drive.
Drag and Drop the contents of the folder (the music files) into the disc drive
Follow the instructions that Windows will automatically provide.
That should do it.
There are some really user friendly software packages that come with burners, and his likely has one, so you can go that route as well.
