Default Fairing bracket replacement

Clutch side is broken. Stealership busy till 4/14. Anyone replaced the clutch side themselves and how much of a job was it? Any tips other than putting a angle brace on it as well to provide more durability?

It takes a couple of hours, J&P has a repair kit for $35.00. Page 742 in 09 catalog.
Change the bracket you need to remove the outer fairing (no matter what you do), unbolt the radio, (you need a 3/16 ball end allen wrench, and may have to remove it), undo the clutch cable and pull it out from the fairing, remove the left directional, (Maybe both and remove the chrome piece in front of the forks) cut wire ties, Might have to unclip some wires to make room to pull the braket out, and unbolt the bracket. It is not a real hard job.

That's the way to go...Don't have to remove much and it will probably never break there again.......

Just fab'd my own end this winter similar to the original. If I would have known about those above - I would definately go that route.
If you go original - it's gonna break again eventually!

I welded mine back together. I'm hoping it'll hold. I f it doesn't, or the other one breaks, then I'll get that repair kit.

The pic shows 2 repair brackets one installed and one not installed, do you get both for the $30.00 price?
