Question MotorHead question

I just pulled the mufflers off of my 08 streetglide. It's got 10K miles on it and is bone stock. I was surprised to see a black sooty coating on the inside of the right pipe. It looked to me like it has been running a little rich. That's not what I expected for a stock 08 bike.

Is that normal?
Thanks in advance.
Randy

It's normal. The right side pipe gets 80% of the exhaust when the stock head pipe is retained. Look at the crossover tube coming off your rear cylinder, you'll see that the majority of the exhaust from the rear cyliner. goes into the right pipe side pipe.
