Jim is a very nice guy and sells a great product for the money.
The stock 4" on the FLHX put the wind right into my glasses and was very irritating.
I bought a 6" & an 8", I'm about 6'1" but mostly in the inseam... I've had the 8" on all winter and I've been completely satisfied. I did a little bit of testing with the 6" and I felt like it was just a hair short. I slouch when I ride but I've been working on my posture.
Sitting up straight the 8" is just right.
I think both of them look just fine, the 6" I prefer because its shorter but I think the 8" still follows the line of the bike nicely and isn't too obnoxious.
im 6'3" and was wondering if you think it would work out for me.....so it looks like the windshield has a radius to it and i suppose the wind and air gets run up and over the bike ??? does it work at highway speed well, and what about rain ??? ive tried the HD tall shield and wind up looking right thru the top edge and it buffets the heck out of you ....oh,,,, and i have a air zep seat on mine dont pump it up much.......so it does raise ya a bit too....do they have taller one than 8" ? kinda wondering right now and kicking it around .......
Shank....I have the 10" Dark Gray and love it. I can see over it easily and it does a great job blocking the wind. I think anytime you go from a small, sleek looking windshield to a larger one, you are bound to feel like it is a huge movie screen sitting up there, but you will get use to it. I went from a 14" recurve down to the 10" and the thing seems sporty to me.
A buddy of mine rides a SG and bought a full face helmet. Not to start that whole dead horse topic on this thread, but I asked him why he did that. He told me that he hated the full face, but didnt want to put a taller windshield on the bike. I gave him my 12" stock.....he ended up buying it from me.

i'm 6'3 as well and the 8" works great. So much better than 4" stock.
great info guys,,,,,looks like it will be on my short list of things to get ........when i get it ordered and on my bike i will post a complete report,,,,,i bet it will be a good looking and good performing improvement........ thanks again !
My sig pic is the Fast Aire 10". Now that its been on for a year, I don't even give it a second thought - I still have a Fast Aire 8" and the stock, but I haven't removed the 10" from the day I installed it. I also put on lowers, fairing "wings", the fork baffle - all in the interest of reducing buffeting (which hammers me when I stick my size 13 feet out of the freeway pegs).
The SG is a fine looking bike, but if you want it tailored for comfort, there are a few mods required - now... its just right for me...
