I don't get the opportunity to take any real trips yet. We still have a daughter at home. A long trip for me is a 1,500 mile weekend and only comes once or twice a year.
Most of my riding is within 100 miles of the house just bar hopping and socializing or maybe going in to town to have lunch.
This is what most would consider the begining of our riding season here and I have ridden 1,000 miles without really going anywhere yet this year.
I don't try to keep track or set any records, just ride whenever I can even if it is only a six miles trip into town.
Between my '82 FXE and my '94 FXDS I do about 18,000-20,000/yr. just riding every day after work and longer rides on days off. About two-thirds of the miles are on the FXDS.
We had phenominally good weather this winter here in the Denver area. Did about 3000 miles total December thru March this year, but that's not typical.
I responded to a post earlier where I put 24,003 miles on in 8 months.
I commute 64 miles one way to work, so at least 130 a day, which is 650 a week not counting sometimes taking the long way home.
Chapter rides every two weeks, a trip back home to northern Wis plus just my cruising.
Retired, understanding wife, Ride when I can. I took a few week long trips last year. It worked out to over 20,000km - short riding season here. This year taking a 4 week trip cross country. I expect to do more like 30-35,000 km.
I get 7,000-10,000 a year. I try and do alot of short trips if I can but now that we moved away from family I don't get a chance to do much besides work or watch my son. I try and take short jaunts when I can like running errands or just going for a solo ride. I try to ride as much as I can.
I lived the first 20 yrs of my life in the Chicago area so I know what miserable weather many of you have. Having been in San Diego for 25 yrs I still remember those days and am very thankful to be able to ride year around. My bike is my primary transportation all year 'round. I live 67 miles from where I work so that's 134 miles a day for my 4 day work week. With little trips here and there throughout the year I average 30k a year consistently.
Riding is definitely my therapy is all I can say. It clears my head and puts everything back in it's proper perspective.
