Well, you're wrong. That noise can cause hearing loss is a fact you can use to support your opinion. It doesn't make your opinion fact.

You stated the noise is "offensive and unneccesary." That, my friend, is, as I previously said, strictly your opinion. Others can and will disagree with this opinion irrespective of the fact that the volume involved may cause hearing loss.

Are we beginning to understand the difference between a fact and an opinion supported by fact? They are not the same thing. I know some people, and you may be among these, believe their opinions are fact, but their beliefs don't alter reality.

If you think your pipes are too loud just change them to some that are more to your liking. Maybe that will prevent you from being castigated in the future.

It's been my experience that most, if not all, of the folks here are a decent bunch. Most of your comments so far have been antagonistic to those who have exhaust not meeting your standards.

You mentioned that you are not here to make friends - you are succeeding.

You might be happier on a different fourm.

I think you told me! Sounds like you're some sort of expert on Hegelian dialectic or something, but I do know when I'm outdone. I cry uncle. No where to go after such an erudite and scholarly response and bluster!

I love the picture of you on your bike, BTW. Very classy and classic!

In testing the waters, so-to-speak, I'm finding a bunch of folks who appear more the "good-old-boy" type than educated, articulate riders. Remember, we of all walks of life have SOMETHING to contribute, but we try to do so with some appropriate demeanor, not just flames. Any jackass can knock down a barn. The responses here make me realize what so many others believe, that many Harley riders really do deserve the soured reputation that precedes them. Interesting case study.

Excuse me while I wash down the popcorn.

I believe your question was answered by several members here. If not, let me interject.
It is a choice. A decision made based on individuality, preference and experiences.

Some riders enjoy loud pipes on a HD's, Yam's, Kaw's, Hnd's Suz's and yes even BMW's.
I'm sure you are aware that there is also a significant number of riders that do not opt for the louder pipes while riding on any of the the above mentioned selection of scotters.

If I wanted a quiet motorcycle......, again I have options.

I chose a Harley due to the abundant choices I have in after market additions. My bike reflects my choices of sound, style and personality. It is what I like. And the best part is that if you dont like my choice, style or personality, it really does not matter to me.

The fact that you chose to remove the pipes from your recent purchase because of the noise emissions....does not matter to me. Your choice that I respect as I would expect the same in return.
The fact that you ride a Beemer, does not matter to me.

What should matter is that YOU are happy with YOUR bike.

PS. I have stock pipes (not real loud) on my Ultra and am very content knowing that if I want to hear more and feel the additional rumble while I'm riding, a simple journy to an HDealer, Indy or an online purchase from Fuel Moto is just a click away.

It would be nothing more than a matter of choice!

Now with that said... you have the choice to stick around, find another forum or start a comletely new forum dedicated to your agenda!

I will respect any decision you make. Just dont criticize any decisions I make. There is alot more to learn on this forum than just motorcycles.

Once again...it is your choice to use this information to your advantage should you decide to use it.

Ride safely, quietly or as loud as you want. Once again..it is your choice.

This is America!! God Bless this Country! this Forum and our right to make choices~!!
