Was stopping fairly hard today while riding 2 up used rear brake only for some reason. When I hit the rear brake the front end started a weird fairly violent shake. It wasnt like a high speed tank slapper just a shake. It seemed to be more front to back than side to side if that makes sense. I tried to recreate and realized that it does it every time I stop using rear brake only, which it unusual for me. I am not talking about sliding the rear tire just fairly agressive braking. While it is unusual that I would be doing this and it seems to only do it under about 5 MPH, I am still worried. Is this a sign of a more serious problem that may show up at high speed? Any ideas what may be causing this?

Possibly your rear rotor is warped and you don't notice it much when you're using both brakes because the front does most of the braking. If your front rotors were warped it would be a lot more serious. If it's worrying you, I'd have a mech look at it. I've heard that one thing that can cause warp is to brake really hard and then immediately park the bike. The area under the calipers remains hot while the rest of the rotor cools down quickly.

Thanks for the reply, sounds reasonable to me. In fact that was my first thought, but doubted myself since I only have 2500 miles on the bike. (just got it april 6) Just thought there may be some known issue I had missed with my search.
