Picking up new Ultra tomorrow
Anyway ... below is a pic of my new Ultra with Rider's Adjustable backrest. This is the first accessory I added. The backrest is easy to adjust (though you do have to reach under the mid-frame air deflector to adjust it) and it can make a really big difference on the road.
As for ride, you won't be disappointed. I moved from a Heritage to the Ultra and didn't realize it would be that big of a difference. It's taken me awhile to get used to the shake at idle (about like a paint mixer), but at 900 RPM and above the motor smooths right out. At highway speeds the Ultra is a dream, and the cruise control is fantastic.
The Tour-Pak mounted luggage rack with LED light was the 2nd item I added. I've not used it yet, other than to be sparkly, but it will get lots of use on my upcoming trip across country in early May.
The 3rd item I added (just last week) was the SOOS floorboard extensions. Both SOOS and Harley Goodies are good products, and I had Harley Goodies on my Heritage. But I went with SOOS this time and they are a quality product. Like the backrest, the floorboard extenders make the ride that much more comfortable. I can get my whole size 12W boot on the floorboards now, and that means much more room to move around while riding.
The UPS guy just dropped off a set of Kury Longhorns with Dually ISO pegs ... but it's gotten really cold again so I'll wait until probably Monday to mount them. I was a little worried about the size/shape of the Dually ISO pegs but after getting them I'm really glad I did.
Post some pics and update us after you get the bike. And welcome to the insane asylum.
