Default Chrome Polishing

I'm just curious what everyone else does to keep that chrome shining bright.

I've been using HD's chrome polish/cleaner for awhile. I have a couple of spots on my Fatboy that are coming clean but it is taking forever. I have heard some guys say in the past to use "0000 Steel Wool" Where would you find it and will it scratch the chrome?

Just wondering if there was anything out there that is better and or easier.

Thanks for the help.

0000 steel wool can be found at any hardware store, & it will not harm your chrome. It will clean the chrome quickly, but put a coat of wax on after you get the dirt off. Don't use any steel wool coarser than 0000!

Mother's chrome polish works pretty good, as does Pig Snot, but actually once it's polished, unless you ride in the rain, it's pretty low maintainence...

I've used Flitz in the past and have been a fan of Blue Magic the past couple of years. I'd heard you should polish, not wax chrome, as it needs to breathe.

My personal favorite is good ol' Neverdull, wipes on easy wipes off easy, except fot those pain in the a-- wheels. I use green metal polis on them cause they are raw aluminun and take awhile, oh by the way don't use spray and wash wheel cleaner it will stain the wheels.

First Sweet Bike I use Lucus Slick Mist on my whole bike except seat. This stuff works great. I also have lots of chrome to keep clean & shinny. For the real hard stuff I also use Wizards Polish.

Exactly....

Polishing chrome is a waste of time. It won't get any shinier by rubbing on it with an abrasive polish. All you gotta do is keep it clean. I don't do anything but wash mine with the rest of the bike and maybe use glass cleaner to knock off the water spots every now and then.
