Has anyone tried to modify a saddlebag lid bra to fit over the pucks? Not sure of the thickness of the bra but would it interfer with the operation of opening/closing? Any thoughts/input would be helpful. Thanks
a buddy of mine cut a hole for the pucks than had a shop that does boat covers finish the edge with some marine grade vinyl. Looks like it left the factory like that. They did a great job
Opinion: saddlebag bras detract from the appearance of the bike, but make sense if you intend to carry stuff on the lids.
Opinion: chrome flush mount pushbutton latches look far better than the pucks or pucks with chrome covers and aren't difficult to install or expensive.
Opinion: the billet chrome latches sold by Richard Pomeroy (Dickelk@aol.com) are a huge improvement over the OEM hinges and reasonably priced at $173.50 delivered for a set of four.
It's you bike and your opinion is the only one that counts. If you want the bras, the puck/shaft is removed by using a hammer/mallet and large blade screwdriver to drive the spring from the shaft attached to the puck. The hole for the shaft is 1.00" diameter.
