Rather then a "hard" cooler (if that's what you had in mind) look at various brands of better made soft luggage (like T-Bags etc) as some of them have nice soft MC luggage lined and meant to be used as coolers. Those normally have attachment points and straps and make it easy to mount onto your rack.

Just get a T-bags roller deker, or deker supreme. They are bags for the luggages rack but come w/ a bag and insulation in them and they are made to double as a cooler. A nice bag for long trips also.

great ideas. i was actually looking into that rack.
but any quick ideas. little low on cash (gps blew and the dryer stopped working)and saving for a trip in 3 weeks. i normally put my soft sided cooler in the trunk for work. but with this trip i want to put one on top so i can have the trunk room.

I agree a soft luggage bag with the built in hooks would be good. Be careful of having too much weight in the cooler with the ice and beverages you could have too much and the tie down hooks might not hold.

That's an awesome rack...Add capacity but still keep your center of gravity low! Definitely something to look into! Thanx

Be careful about trailer hitch mounts if you are at all concerned about your warranty. I heard that having a hitch on the bike will void it.
