Default Aftermarket radio install
Pretty excited to get this started but not all the parts have arrived yet.

I ebay'd my stock radio from my 06 RG. Got $460 for it.

Went to Crutchfield and got a Sony CDX-M60OUI

It's a Marine receiver and has built in iPod controls -199

I then bought the Hawg Wired painless install kit that includes the annodized bezel, DIN adapter tray and hand control to Sony radio wiring kit for 250.

All total, this is the only mod for my bike that I can say I got paid $10 for! I'm plus 10 after the ebay sale. My wiring kit will be here tomorrow and I can finish the install. Looking fwd to it. I also recovered my speaker grills in a marroon color to match my striping on the bike, looks pretty neat. Will get some pics up tomorrow when I finish up.

Good to know.

Plan on pulling stock radio out of '06 RG and going with another unit.

Parts came today. The Hawg Wired kit is excellent! Very simple, makes the install so quick and easy. Will get pictures of it later this week when I put it in.

Sounds like a great deal. I'll be interested to hear what you think of the integrated iPod controls.

That was one of my main reasons for the upgrade..I love my iPod. The Sony has a 2 ft long USB input that I am going to place in my left glovebox.

I also have Sirius radio. I removed the regular am/fm antenna from the bike and don't plan on hooking it up either.

The bike has 4 Rockford Fosgate speakers. 2 up front and 2 in the King Tourpack.
