Just to throw in my two cents:
1: Put it on a lift & get the wheels off the ground. Just an inch or so. Make sure to use tie-downs, and tell wifey not to touch them for any reason.
2: Stuff some steel wool into the exhaust.
3: Pull the sparkies & oil the jugs.
4: Hook up an H-D smart charger.
5: Stabil in the (full) tank.
6: Coat all exposed wiring with electrical grease.
7: Wash & wax the bike real good (after the last ride).
8: Disconnect any after-market accessories.
9:Ease up on the tire pressure by 5 lbs or so.
10: Talk to your insurance agent. Ask them to adjust your policy to cover "acts of God" and such while you're gone.
11: Kiss your wife, hug the kids, call your folks. They're the reason you joined, and the reason you're here.
12: Come home safe & sound.
