Default Front Brake Lever Question

My friend has to replace the front brake lever on a 09 Ultra. Do we need to empty the master cylinder before removing the brake lever as it states in the service manual under disassemble of master cylinder or can it be done by pulling the pivot pin to remove the lever.

You just pull the pin, no need to mess with the master cylinder.

Make sure you put a piece of cardboard or the eyelet of a zip tie between the lever and brake light switch.................

That won't work if you are taking the lever off??? But you do need to watch that you don't mess up the switch with the new lever. It is quite easy to break.

I didn't think I had. But as we replace the lever I can see how easy it would be to break.

We were able to replace the lever with out a problem.... Thanks
