Uh,yeah,I won't be getting rid of my 05 anytime soon.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know you got the best bike in the world.
05's weren't perfect (Valve Seals) Show some class.
At least you could be a little considerate of a fellow bikers problems.
All the 09's have a leak on the dealers showroom floor? Dr. Demming might suggest that perhaps this problem is going to affect all 09's. That is heartbreaking because it would suggest that a huge recall may be in the works for HD at a time when the company is fragile due to the economy. It also calls into question the changes they made to the frames for 09. Did this place a new stress on the motors that was not there in 08? I certainly hope this was a bad run of metal or some other isolated problem and not a widespread condition. The last thing we need is a bunch more american workers out of work, not to mention the idea of HD going under.
went by to pickup bike to ride while waiting on case talked to john we sat down and crunched some numbers on 110 motor and chrome inner primery 2,300.00 out the door ??????? with hd picking up most of the labor
I just got back from a ride (had to go to the Data Center) to and fro, put about 70 miles on...and (crossing my fingers) it appears that the small oil leak I was experiencing, is longer present.
The leak 'was' coming from a bad seal between the top of the oil-filter mount and below the oil-cooler send/receive unit. So far, so good (I hope).
Still going to have my mechanic take a gander and make sure it is indeed fixed, but...
Sorry to your problems and hope all goes well, But I just cant get over why would you expect more than just what is due to remedy the problem. Please note I am only reverting back to your original post. To me that just sounds ghetto.
Hey 7125.... going back to your original post... I think it's reasonable to expect something extra for your pain and suffering. After all, your new bike is down for major repairs and it's a factory problem and not something you caused. It doesn't surprise me that MoCo would be hesitant to offer anything "extra", but it sounds like your dealer is stepping up to the plate. Hope all goes well for you - sounds like you have a solid dealer that is standing up for his relationship with you and his reputation.
