Good luck! Opinions vary so much... Check answers in some of the oil threads... I use Amsoil - really can'nt tell any performance difference between it and fossil. Synth suppose to hold together better in the heat and I wanted the best I could get for my ride... Is it better than HD synth or Mobile 1? Hope so...
a $20,000 bike and your worried that a few dollars may be wasted if it's not needed. they're expensive toys and synthetic oil may help prolong the life of the engine.
Mobile One 15W-50 car oil is fine for the MOTOR and it's $26 for a 5 quart bottle at Walmart. That's $5.20 a quart. Amsoil is around $9 here in my area. Just a suggestion and from what I've seen here Mobile One and Amsoil are at least equal in the ratings. Alot of the members here use this oil and have liked it.
So many opinions on oil here so you'll get all kinds of responses. In reality there probably isn't a huge difference between the major brand synthetics. Just my opinion...
whatever floats your boat...to me they are all the same for bikes unless your racing it eveyday. oil changes every 3000 with dino to me is just as good as anything else...if your lazy like me, i use syn every 5000. i use hd oil only because its easy for me to get where i live....never had any problems using syn or dino
hey bud well all i want to say is that am pro synthetic but as far as amsoil goes its a great oil i used it in alot of my bikes but stop using it cuz it made my engine noisy valve noise i suppose other than that i loved it. recently i changed to mobil 1 in fact only a a week a go i did and its synthetic but no noise!!! and mobil 1 is a bigger more experienced company racing etcc anyways it doesn not make it noisy like the other synthetics do just thought i mentioned it in case u noticed the noise.
If it meets manufact specs and is changed regularly, I can't see you haveing a problem either way. I use Amsoil just because my dealer stocks it, so it's easy to get.

Good analogy. The money we put in these things is unreal. Oil seems to be an item many don't like paying a little extra for. Kinda funny at times.
Ah, just look in the right place and you may find it cheaper than you think.
