Default Dr. Mechanico ???

After reading the good reviews on this forum about DR. Mechanico. I ordered a case of 6. The price was great and the quick & free shipping made it even better.
Of those that have used this product, how exactly did you use it to get the great result that you did?
I thought I would use it on my Jeep before my bike. I found that I got a film over the entire vehicle. When I dried it I found that the film appears to be black. I figure that the black color is actually DIRT that is still there. If this is the case it WILL eventually scratch the paint or act as an abrasive like very fine polish... not a good thing. The 1st. time I diluted 1qt in 1gal of water in a pump sprayer, rinse with garden hose, towel dry. I thought, to be fair I would give it another try a week later but this time, full strength and went to the coin wash to try a stronger rinse, towel dry. Still Same result. After the last wash we had a light rain and I had to pull off the road and wipe the windshield with a micro fiber to get the film off becaust I couldn't see through it well.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong. Since the reviews were so good, I must be doin' something wrong. Belive me ... I want this stuff to work but so far there is no way it's going on my bike.

I use it and like it alot. I put about 8 oz. in a gallon sprayer, spay heavily and let set for a few minutes, strong rinse with the hose, dry with leaf blower or micro cloth. It has always melted the bugs and grime away nicely. Heavier dirt and brake dust needs a hit with a sponge for sure. You need to rinse really good with pressure or it will film over. Also, I found out it will leave a white residual on the stitching on my seat. No bid deal, i just hit it with a wet rag to finish the bath. I have used it on my car also and got the same good results.

Connman,
Actually your post was the one of the ones that got me to place the order.
I did exactly as you suggested but seem to have gotten a completely different result. I wash the Jeep every week so it wasn't even as dirty as you discribed your bike. Didn't you gat the film I described ? When I think of it, It didn't even clean the wheels or white letters either. Maybe it works better on bike dirt than on car dirt.... Just kiddin'

The thing it will NOT do, is replace a "hands-on" wash. Like if you drove the car/truck/bike in the rain all day. Sometimes it'll take a good wash mitt, a lot of suds, and half your day to get something clean to your satisfaction. I got no "film" at all.

But, for what I use it for, it really did work great. I'm not going to toss my other stuff in the trash, but this product definetly has it's place. Let's say your bike was clean, but you had to do down a short dirt road. A quick spray and rinse with Doctor Mecanico and she'll look as good as new, plus, it got all the "mung" off the engine case and lower frame area.

I may be too picky & I know god ol' elbow grease works best but I guess I was hoping for a less expensive alternitive to S100. S100 works very well but takes alot of water to get it all off or it will leave a film also but the film is never black and rinsing will get it off. Maybe it is the foam that lifts the dirt. The black makes me think it's not getting past the top layer of dirt. That I can do with water alone. I am however going to try it on the motor... sounds like it might work as a cleaner and brightner in one.

Hey Guys,

First off as always thanks for the support and positive reviews. Some of you have been posting that you dont want to try it for a couple random reviews, but let me tell you, there are many more people impressed with it than anything else. As with any product made, you have your couple who just didn't like it.

Here is the deal with the cars.

Obviously a car will attract much more dirt just because of the size. Also, black is a pita. My personal car is black and I wash with Doctor. It is the only thing that I can use that really keeps the dust away after wash. For a light and I mean very light wash you really don't need to put a rag to it. However, once you do give a good wash, keep up with it every couple days like I do with mine and you can forget about putting a rag on it every week.

As always, I stand by our product and if you have any questions or are not satisfied for whatever reason I will go above and beyond to make sure that you are.

Thanks
Rick
