I like to watch Craigslist for Harleys, just a habit of mine. Lately I see bikes with really low miles forsale. Like a 2 year old RK Custom with only 18 miles on it. What do they do buy it and ride it home and park it for 2 years??
It seems like everytime I ride anywhere I end up with 100 miles on the bike. Today I just took my daughter to lunch and shopping and we did over 90 miles.
I have 6 bikes that I ride on a regular basis. It is pretty hard to rack-up a lot of miles on each one. The Honda Rune (The BEST of the bunch) only has 700 miles on it.
The riding suit I'm referring to is the FXRG nylon touring jacket and pants. It's waterproof, comfortable and warm without having to wear alot of layers underneath. Put the waterproof FXRG boots and a full face helmet on and your good for when foul weather hits. It allows you to forego taking rain gear and frees up space in the saddlebags and tour pack. I rode in the rain with wet feet to Sturgis once and was miserable. Won't let it happen again. Not everyone likes riding suits, but I do.

Hey hdman,
If you need help putting miles on any of those bikes let me know. I'd like to help.
Be careful of some of the 'too good to be true' ads on Craigslist. Some are scams and that are designed to suck you into a bad deal, stolen property or mug you when you show up.
As for low-mileage bikes, many people who bought bikes over the last few years found out that motorcycling is a physically demanding and potentially dangerous sport, what with getting on and off and many hours in the saddle, the vagaries and discomforts of weather and the requirement of specialized skills. They like their Lazy Boys better, where they can sit in air conditioned or heated rooms, drink beer and watch endless hours of TV. And they don't have to worry about falling off until they have that stroke or heart attack their chosen lifestyle has brought on.
My brother has a co-worker who bought a brand new Harley a few years ago. Every time he calls him and asks if he wants to go riding the guy says that "it looks like it might rain." Hasn't been on a ride in two years.
Someone bought them, obviously, for whatever reason didnt ride them and now want to sell them...whats the big mystery?...why do you really give a s#@t?.......:>)
My thoughts exactly.............so why are we reading this thread???
ALSO, WE NEED A NEW THREAD:
A. DEFINE YUPPIE?
B. (i was gonna say define ""biker" too, but I remembered that has already been hashed out on here before)

Reason: old age
I met one of those yuppie riders about a week or so ago. He had a black '05 Lowrider carb bike with 520 something miles on it and it was dead factory stock and mint. I offered to buy it right there for what he paid for it and he wasn't interested. Said he used it to "pick up babes". In Boulder colorado? I'm doubtin' that very much.
